J-Say It! Talking To Your Computer With Confidence.

Working with J-Dictate and J-Say Training Course.

Introduction.

For 17 years, J-Say has provided visually impaired people not only with the means to be able to dictate text to the computer, (receiving meaningful speech feedback), but also it has delivered a vehicle for people who have physical and cognitive difficulties to take control of it using the human voice alone. This means that individuals with such challenges can work with traditional computing applications, providing independence to enhance communication with others, social media interaction, working with websites and more.

The software has allowed people to prepare and publish books, write plays and serials for radio and television, carry out all manner of employment tasks or, at a more basic level, send an Email to a family member in another country.

Over the years, we have attempted a range of training techniques for providing tuition in the use of J-Say. By far our most popular and successful method is face-to-face tuition. However during 2019 we've conducted a range of remote training sessions with people in the United States using the telephone. Some of those programmes are still ongoing.

However, it is not always easy to find cost effective training overseas in this very specialist area of computer access and control. Our new training course, developed and being made available in a new way, will assist with this.
