What's New in J-Say 22!

Welcome to the upgrade document for J-Say version 22!

The primary purpose of this release of J-Say is to provide full compatibility with JAWS version 2024. Previous releases of JAWS are supported.
This has required a large number of internal changes including within the Dragon Correction box. Every effort has been made to test all aspects of the product with JAWS 2024.
this is the initial release of a new J-Say version with plenty As usual to come in 2024.

A number of features were added during this year, including many enhancements for use with Windows11. Every voice command was modified to take account of changes in Windows11.

J-Say 22.0 now supports Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 16. Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 15 series will continue to be supported for some time to come.

If you have J-Say 21 installed, you can install any update over the top of the existing installation. You do not need to uninstall the previous version first.

The following global voice commands are available for the JAWS Face In View feature:

Start Face in View.
Stop Face in View.
Face in View Description.
Face in View Brightness.
Face in View Picture Smart.
Face in View confidence.
Next Camera.
Previous Camera.

There is now one single installer so as to support J-Say for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15.3, 15.6 and 16.

The voice command, “Check Microphone”, now functions with all builds of Windows10 and Windows11.

The command, “Get Latest Version”, will cause the latest update to J-Say to be downloaded. A Dialog Box will then be brought into view to confirm that the installation should proceed.
This option can also be accessed through the “Configuration Wizard”, Grave Accent then W.

When using the “Move Up” and “Move Down” commands inside an Outlook message, JAWS should no longer speak the focused line twice.

The commands “Move Up” and “Move Down” should now report the focused cell reference and data in an Excel Workbook.

Commands to manipulate Braille displays by voice should now be working again.

The command “Be Quiet” once again works within Dragon’s Sleep Mode.

Support is available for Dragon 16 when used with Microsoft Teams.
Extensive keyboard support is provided to access Teams more efficiently together with a suite of voice commands. Please consult the Command Summary document relating to Microsoft Teams. Alternatively, for keyboard use, press Insert+H when Teams is focused so as to obtain a list of keyboard shortcuts.
If you are planning to use Teams extensively, we strongly recommend you obtain training in this area from a J-Say Specialist.
To repeat, Teams should not be used with Dragon 15.

Modifications have been made to J-Clips so that they can be used independently of the Windows clipboard.
