LeaseyBite 32, YouTube Videos Just Get Better

This page contains an approximate transcript of the audio content for the LeaseyBite. For further step by step examples of how to use the Leasey features discussed, please consult the Leasey documentation.

Thank you for your interest in Leasey!

We're back to entertain you again with another LeaseyBite. If you have version 3.3 build 48 of Leasey installed, you'll be able to take advantage of some new keystrokes we've introduced so as to manipulate YouTube videos. If you don't have build 48, feel free to go to the Leasey Help system, select the main categories list, and then choose Check for Updates.

You'll recall in LeaseyBite 20, we discussed and demonstrated keystokes for pausing and playing a YouTube video, together with fast forwarding and rewinding it. Well we've added some more keystrokes, not only to improve upon changing the volume level of the playback, but also to skip forward and back in larger increments.

If you browse to a YouTube video, you can press the Leasey key followed by the letter H to go into Leasey's help system. There, you can find all the keystrokes I'm going to give you now, and pressing Enter on any one of them will carry out the function. But lets review them.

Pressing ALT+Control+Windows+f11 repeatedly will decrease the volume of audio, and ALT+Control+Windows+F12 will increase it.

If you press ALT+Control+Windows+1 through to 9, you can move through the video by percentage. So ALT+Control+Windows+1 will take you to 10 percent through the video. ALT+Control+Windows+2 is 20 percent etc. You can work your way up to 90 percent.
ALT+Control+Windows+Home will take you to the start of the video and ALT+Control+Windows+End will move to the end. In point of fact what that keystroke will invariably do is take you to the end point of the video, and if it is part of a YouTube channel, you will hear an alert to indicate the next video in the sequence which will be played.

ALT+Control+Windows+M will mute or unmute the video from being heard. So if muted it will continue to play, and if you have some vision you will be able to see its progress, but you just will not hear anything until you unmute it.

Finally, ALT+Control+Windows+S will stop the video rather than pause it, and resuming play with ALT+Control+Windows+P will ensure you hear the start of it once more.

All these keystrokes ensure that you skip sections of videos you do not like, while gaining pleasure from hearing your favourite parts again and again.
