This page contains an approximate transcript of the audio content for the LeaseyBite. For further step by step examples of how to use the Leasey features discussed, please consult the Leasey documentation.

Thank you for your interest in Leasey!

Just a little LeaseyBite today before we get into some much larger topics. But I'm keeping the theme of entertainment going.

Do you want to watch someone performing the latest hit song in the bedroom? How about viewing a university graduation ceremony, or another memorable event a person has videoed? YouTube is a global phenominin which several years ago caught the public's attention. Anyone can create a YouTube channel and upload content to it for the world to enjoy. With Leasey running, we try to make accessing YouTube videos as easy as possible.

We're going back to our old friend, LeaseySearch, to look for a video on YouTube. I'll press the Leasey Key then Control+Shift+S to go into LeaseySearch, press letter "Y", then Enter.

Liam Ervin is a developer of computer games for blind people to use. He has uploaded a number of walk throughs of games so people really get the idea as to the best ways of playing them, and you never know, you might get some hints and tips along the way, little tricks you might not find in the game user guides. It's always helpful to hear someone else play a game, and I know this is one of my wife's favourite YouTube channels of the moment. There's a particular video which caught her interest, " "Lets Play Crazy Party Part 2". So we'll ask Leasey to search for that one. I'll type it in and press Enter.

We immediately get back a series of results, which you can view using standard techniques for navigating web pages. The one we're interested in is the first result, which I would expect because we've been quite explicit about the video in which we are interested. That's the secret of any search tool. Be as precise as possible and you are likely to get the result you want within a short period of time. Lets press Enter on the first result.

We can now use keystrokes in Leasey to control the YouTube video. As with some of the other utilities, hold down the ALT, Windows and Control Keys, and at the same time, press:
Letter P to play and pause the video.
Right Arrow to skip forward.
Left Arrow to skip back.
F12 will allow us to control the volume level. I'll press that now. Activating this option takes you to a volume slider, whereupon you can use the Left and Right Arrow keys to control it.
When you've set the volume, press Escape.

If we move to the top of the page, and press Tab, we'll reach the Home Link. I'll just press Enter.

On this page, you can read about videos YouTube has recommended for you. My reason for showing this to you is that Leasey considerably customises the JAWS output when you are on the YouTube website, so as to reduce some of the extraneous speech you might otherwise receive. This makes it much easier to read and find what you want.

Through Leasey and YouTube, come together to break down barriers and share passions. After all, the world is a better place when we listen and share.
